🥊 UFC to Host Historic Fight Night at the White House – Dana White Confirms

In what promises to be one of the most unique sporting spectacles in history, UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed that a UFC Fight Night at the White House is officially in the works — and it’s set to happen on July 4th, 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of American independence.
White, speaking to the Associated Press, said he will be traveling to Washington later this month to meet with President Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump to finalize the logistics.
“It’s absolutely going to happen,” White said. “Think about it — the 250th birthday of the United States of America, UFC live from the White House South Lawn on CBS. It’s going to be incredible.”
A Patriotic Spectacle for the Ages
The idea was first floated by President Trump last month, who envisioned 20,000 fans gathered on the White House grounds for a one-of-a-kind fight night to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial.
For many, the thought of cage fights at the White House would have seemed unthinkable years ago. But under White’s leadership, the UFC has evolved from a niche combat sport to a global powerhouse, capable of staging events in the most iconic venues imaginable.
From $2 Million to a $7.7 Billion Deal
When the Fertitta brothers bought the UFC in 2001 for just $2 million and put Dana White in charge, few could have predicted where the organization would go. White oversaw its sale in 2016 for $4 billion, inked broadcast deals with Fox and ESPN, and now, the company has landed its most lucrative deal yet — a seven-year, $7.7 billion contract with Paramount starting in 2026.
Under the new agreement, all U.S. UFC cards will stream on Paramount+, with select events simulcast on CBS. International rights could follow as they become available.
“We’re coming for all of them,” White said confidently. “The NFL, the NBA, soccer — globally, UFC is right there.”
What to Expect on Fight Night
Matchmakers are already working on what White calls a “loaded debut card” for the Paramount era, though the main event for the White House fight night remains under wraps.
“This is a one-of-one event,” White emphasized. “It has to be special.”
The shift to Paramount will also affect programming such as The Ultimate Fighter, Road to UFC, and Dana White’s Contender Series. Start times for former pay-per-view events may also change when cards air on CBS.
Fighter Pay and the Future of Pay-Per-View
White said the Paramount deal will significantly impact fighter pay, noting that “every time we win, everybody wins.”
Boxer Jake Paul recently commented that eliminating the traditional pay-per-view model could give fighters a clearer picture of their worth. White disagrees, insisting PPV is far from dead.
“There are still UFC cards on pay-per-view for the rest of the year,” White said. “Wherever we end up, that’s what we roll with.”
History in the Making
Whether you’re a casual fan or a die-hard MMA follower, the idea of a UFC octagon set against the backdrop of the White House on Independence Day is nothing short of historic. For Dana White and the UFC, it’s yet another step in proving that combat sports can compete — and even surpass — the biggest names in global sports entertainment.
